Meet Me, Esther Cohen
Let me tell you a little about me; my name is Esther Cohen; I recently changed my name back to my maiden name from Lehman. I am the creator of Holy Land Oils, born of my passion for aromatherapy. To me, there is nothing more lovely than the magical properties of natural oils, balms, and creams, which I have made many combinations at my home in Israel. It pleases me that people enjoy my blend of ingredients and benefit from their healing, soothing and holistic properties. My favorite oil is Olive oil, simply because of its richness and many healing therapeutic properties, emotionally, spiritually, and physically.
In my many years as a personal trainer and holistic nutritionist, I have taught various exercise and fitness classes, such as Pilates, body sculpting, aerobics, aqua exercise, and meditation. Spanning over the past 25 years, I have been training and teaching krav maga and am a black belt 4th, Dan. I train men, women, and children from all over the world how to defend themselves, which gives me a lot of satisfaction.
In my opinion, it is a no-brainer; for this reason, Holy Land Oils uses oils that are made right here on Israeli soil. Our soil is rich in minerals, which influences and endows the high quality of my oil choices. Using organic essential oils that are from their naturally grown environment makes them rich in healing qualities. They bear a strong, rich, and fresh scent, the very same as our ancestors would have smelled in biblical times.
Oils in Biblical Times and present-day Aromatherapy are one of the same. In the days of the Holy Temple of Jerusalem, the Israelites used natural oils daily. However, for the sacrifices, only the high priest (the Cohen) was authorized to use the oil, which was explicitly blended for the prayer on that day by an appointed pharmacist. Later on, prophets and kings were also allowed to sacrifice and were anointed with oils. When the bible mentions the word oil, it mainly refers to olive oil.
In Israel, we pray for the coming of the Messiah, which means the “anointed one.” The high priest used to anoint kings, prophets, priests, and Temple articles. The olive oil was enhanced with essential oils such as Myrrh, Myrtle, and Cinnamon, and the holy anointing oil is described in Exodus 30:22-25.
The Land of Israel is known as the land of milk and honey. Israel has seven species of trees and plants naturally grown in its lands: olives, grapes, wheat, barley, figs, dates, and pomegranates. Even today, Olive trees which were abundant in biblical times in Israel are till today growing on the plains and in her beautiful hills, from Galilee to Samaria and the Judean Dessert.
HolyLand Oils sells the Oil of Gladness and Anointing Oil, which you will find on our product page; other oils may be made to order.
